Fluorescent inks

loading="lazy"

Fluorescent inks have the same properties as regular offset inks for sheet-fed printing, but with additional luminescent properties. Under normal daylight conditions, the printing products have a luminescent effect.

The fluorescent properties are achieved through the use of special pigments, which, however, show significantly lower light fastness levels than conventional pigments. In practice, this means that the fluorescent effect is only temporary in daylight and printing products should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

The fluorescent inks have no lightfastness properties and are not resistant to spirits and pyroxylin varnish. If printed products made with fluorescent inks are to be post-processed (foil lamination, dispersion and UV coating), color tone changes may occur due to lack of lightfastness properties. Therefore, test prints are necessary.

Fluorescent inks should be treated like regular inks. No special image editing is needed.
